Precinct 4 Constable's Office And Law Enforcement Partners Target Online Predators
With a significant increase in our children being online for school work, the Constable's office deemed it necessary to have law enforcement monitor networks for possible child predators.
The Deparment knows and understands that these child predators will use every opportunity to exploit our children.
Constable Mark Herman's High Tech Crimes Unit coordinated an Online Predator Operation to identify and
arrest individuals who would sexually prey on children through social media within the boundaries of Harris County Precinct 4.
Constable Herman's office conducted the operation with the assistance of the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, the Harris County Sheriff's Office, Harris County Precinct 5 Constable's Office, Katy ISD Police, Humble Police, Houston Police and the Harris County District Attorney's Office.
During this operation, a suspect named Marion Williamson had conversations with law enforcement
personnel whom he believed to be a minor and then traveled to a location where he expected to meet a child for the purposes of a prearranged sexual encounter.
He was intercepted by law enforcement and subsequently arrested for the offense of Online Solicitation of a Minor.
He was also in possession of 1.19 grams of Methamphetamine and additional charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance were filed.
Marion Williamson was booked into the Harris County jail for the mentioned charges as well as for an outstanding warrant for Injury to the Elderly and an additional Possession of a Controlled Substance charge.
He is currently in custody and awaiting trial.
His bond for the Online Solicitation of a Minor was set at $30,000.00, $5,000.00 for the Possession of a Controlled Substance, $15,000.00 for the Injury of the Elderly Warrant and a No Bond for the outstanding Possession of a Controlled Substance Warrant out of the 230th District Court.
"Precinct 4 will continue to support these types of collaborative efforts with local, state and federal agencies in order to seek out and apprehend those in our communities who intend to harm and/or sexually prey upon our children." - Constable Mark Herman
