New City Ordinance Amendment Approves Land Use for Breweries
On March 16th, the Tomball City Council approved an ordinance amendment that classifies microbreweries and brewpubs as an official use of land inside the city limits. These establishments will be limited to half the amount of production barrels allowed by the Texas Senate Bill 515 in 2013, in order to stem the negative impact such a large scale production might have on Old Town Tomball. Still, Fire Ant Brewing Company plans to open their establishment for business in either late 2015 or 2016, with plans to sell "growlers" to fill with their five signature beers, as well as seasonal offerings.
