The folks at Rice have developed a research study that collects information on the impact of Hurricane Harvey on the community, and they're asking area residents to help by filling out a quick survey.

You Can Take The Survey HERE!!!

The Hurricane Harvey Registry is a project that collects health, location and exposure information from people affected by Hurricane Harvey. This project is led by Dr. Marie Lynn Miranda from Rice University. This project is funded by the Cullen Trust for Healthcare, the Environmental Defense Fund and the National Institutes of Health.

If you are 18 or older and lived in the Greater Houston area during Hurricane Harvey (August/September 2017), you can take the core survey.

...Even if you weren't affected by the storm or ensuing floodwaters, you should take the survey!

In research studies, scientists usually compare people who have been affected by an event to people who have not been affected. If you have not been affected by Hurricane Harvey, your responses to the survey provide valuable information for making this comparison.

The information in the registry will help researchers understand the health impacts of Hurricane Harvey on the Greater Houston area. They will share reports back with you that tell you what they're learning from the registry. The reports will also be shared with government officials to guide the response to Harvey and plan for Houston's future.

The Hurricane Harvey Registry is a joint venture of Environmental Defense Fund, Fort Bend County, Harris County Public Health Department, Houston Health Department, Montgomery County and Rice University.
