According to HCSO reports, on Monday, September 16, 2019, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Harris County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a shooting at the Showboat Drive-in Movie Theater located in the 22400 block of FM 2920 in northwest Harris County.
Upon arrival, they discovered an unidentified male deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.
Deputies spoke with the theater manager who indicated she and another employee were closing the theater for the night when she heard a strange noise. She stated she retrieved a handgun that she keeps on premises for safety. When she went to inspect the source of the noise, an unidentified masked male confronted her with a knife. She ordered the male to drop the knife and after complying, the male fled on foot.
A second unidentified masked male emerged from a restroom carrying a baseball bat and begin to attack the manager with the bat. The manager discharged her weapon striking the male several times. EMS pronounced the male decease at the scene, and treated the manager for minor injuries.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office homicide unit responded to the scene to conduct the follow-up investigation. The second suspect remains at large, and the investigation is ongoing at this time. Investigators urge anyone with information to contact the homicide unit at (713) 274-9100
