Safety Tips During Power Outages

Loading Image...

As many people have been experiencing power outages overnight and many are still without power, here are some safety tips to follow during a power outage.

*Fully charge cellphones and other devices in advance.

*Have additional battery packs and use a battery powered radio.

*Use a flashlight instead of candles.

*Be sure to have spare batteries.

*Keep portable generators outside; never heat your home with a gas stove or oven.

*Close off unused rooms, place towels or blankets under doors, cover windows to conserve heat.

*Find additional blankets, consider relocating family to a common room.

*If you come across downed power lines, do not approach and do not attempt to cross them.
* Reactions disabled on political threads.
