Constable's office arrests suspect in child abuse incident
On September 17, 2023, a deputy with Constable Mark Herman's Office responded to the 23000 block of Cranberry Trail in reference to an injury to a child call.
Upon arriving, the suspect involved was detained and identified as Nonya Smith.
Further investigation revealed video footage captured Nonya Smith choking and slapping an 11 year old juvenile, causing pain and injury.
"Nonya Smith was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Injury to a Child.
Her bond has not been set at this time." - Constable Mark Herman
