Donna Wick, CEO of and chief publicist for WICKed Publicity, was selected to join an elite circle of business and community leaders when she was named Ambassador for Super Bowl LI Game City Showcase.
“Game City Showcase is a four-day event leading up to the Big Game on February 5. It celebrates four distinctive Houston neighborhoods with free events, entertainment, food and drink,” said Wick. “I’m honored to have been selected by the Committee to promote this event and bring awareness to these awesome neighborhoods and what they can offer residents and tourists alike.”
The Showcase was conceived by The Houston Mayor’s Office, Houston Super Bowl Host Committee, METRO, Former City Councilman Gordon Quan, Civic Leader Susan Young, and Community Relations Expert Myra Johnson, who joined forces to coordinate the event, which will be held Monday, January 30 through Thursday, February 2 in four different Houston neighborhood districts: Midtown, Theater District, EADO, and the Museum District. The purpose of the event is to encourage residents and visitors to the city to patronize and support local retail stores, locally owned restaurants and other community-based nonprofit organizations.
“Four days, four neighborhoods, for Houstonians and visitors, for free,” said Wick, who is one of only a handful of business leaders selected to be a Game City Ambassador. “This is a concept the whole city – whether a football fan or no – can get behind, because this is all about supporting local businesses; something our firm does best.”
