As part of our ongoing "Getting to Know Your Local Businesses" series, this week we sat down with Robert Parsley, owner of Quality Comfort Air.

Tell us a bit about your business: What does your business offer, and how long have you been around?
We’ve been providing residential and commercial services for A/C & Heating Installation, tune-ups, maintenance, and repairs, along with duct system analysis, since 2011.We are licensed and insured to bring you the highest-quality AC and heating services such as tune-ups, repairs and both residential and commercial system installation.

How did you decide to get involved in this line of work?
We are a family-owned and operated business that started from the ground up. Before starting the company, my wife Nicole worked at a web development firm and that gave me the confidence that she could help me with our marketing/branding. I have worked in every form of HVAC field services, including AC installation, working as a lineman helper for the electric company, repairing sheetrock and roofs, doing general remodeling and working as an electrician. But, my first love was AC.
I knew with both of our talents and experience that I could finally open my own business in the AC and HVAC service industry and it’s been a great ride since we made that decision.

Tell us a couple things you are proud of about your business. What are you known for? What separates you from the competition?
We are very proud of the long-term relationships we’ve built with our customers. Staying with us from the very beginning, they have become like family members. We have a reputation for doing things right.
Our team of comfort specialists have been performing air conditioning and heating services for over 20 years, providing you the most knowledgeable advice. If you’re not happy or something is missing, we go back and make it right. We’re also very proud that we’ve been completely self-funded, securing no loans to build our business.

What is your favorite part of running this business?
It’s been a bonus to interact with so many different people in our community. My wife and I both enjoy getting to know our neighbors.
I love to create and build things and everyone says I’m a natural at it. I really enjoy solving problems that our customers bring us and finding the best solution to make everyone happy.

Who is your ideal customer/client? Who do you serve best?
Our ideal customer is a homeowner or business owner who seeks expert AC service and HVAC services and feels that they don’t know which company they can trust for this work. Before we start providing any service, we speak with you and tell you our findings. If you want us to show you what we found, we will. Once a price is agreed upon with you, then we will begin the work.

Is there any other information you'd like your potential customers/clients to know about your business?

Many of our customers appreciate our Maintenance Program as it lowers their utility bills, it extends their equipment life, improves comfort, and it improves the unit efficiency, resulting in fewer repairs. We offer three different levels in order to fit your budget and needs.
In the past, we’ve been very supportive of this community, raising money for children. We’ve sponsored the Ford Galaxy Fun Run, CASA, and the Montgomery County Women’s Shelter. We have also supported a Christmas Toy Drive that benefited the Children’s Cancer Recovery Foundation and the Montgomery County Emergency Assistance.

How do you see your business growing and improving over the next couple of years?
We hope to bring on more team members and expand the business keeping that personal and human touch we provide our customers. We will continue to offer our neighbors local support and answer any questions they may have about their heating or cooling systems.
