As part of our ongoing "Getting to Know Your Local Businesses"
series, this week we sat down with Melody Fraser, co-owner of Blissful Waters Float Center.
Tell us a bit about your business: What does your business offer, and how long have you been around?

We
are a float therapy center, specializing in sensory deprivation.
Blissful Waters Float Center has been open now for three years. In those
three years we have grown into a three float room center, with added
modalities that compliment floating and our wellness brand.
How did you decide to get involved in this line of work? How did the business get started?
I
found floating when my kids were young. They talk a lot. I loved that I
could escape somewhere and think freely. It was quiet, calm and I was
uninterrupted. I always say, “Love at first float”. My husband and I
would joke as I was critiquing the float centers that I visited. “Hey
you should open your own center,” he would say. Then we did. Float
Therapy had such an impact on my life that I wanted to bring the
experience of floating to everyone I know. Together we wanted a place
for healing, wellness, and community.
Tell us a couple things you are proud of about your business. What are you known for? What separates you from the competition?
I
love when I hear that we are changing lives. How amazing is that? We
get to witness combat vets take control of their life, and win against
mental health challenges. I love seeing entrepreneurs work on their
self-development and grow their businesses. I have the pleasure of
witnessing couples, parents connect with each other and enjoy a date
night. Chronic pain sufferers feeling pain relief for multiple days. It
feels good to be a positive influence in so many lives and I cherish the
friends and relationships we are forming along the way.
Who is your ideal customer/client? Who do you serve best?
Blissful
Waters Float Center is a great place for athletes, chronic pain
sufferers, someone looking for stress relief, busy teens, mental health
sufferers with common disorders like autism, PTSD depression, ADHD and
more. A float

tank is a light and sound reduced environment that contains a saturated
solution of Epsom salt that is kept at skin temperature. This
environment allows a person to float effortlessly without external
stimuli for many purposes, including meditation, exploration,
relaxation, and physical therapy. The environment that the float tank
offers helps with pain, inflammation, changing brain waves, enjoying
complete relaxation. Our float tanks hold about a foot of water, which
is heavily saturated with roughly 1600 lbs. of medical grade Epsom salt.
This creates a solution with a density comparable to the dead sea,
allowing a person to float effortlessly, removing all pressure from your
joints and muscles. You can float with ambient music and gentle light
or go sensory deprivation also known as R.E.S.T. (restricted,
environmental, stimuli, therapy). Blissful Waters ideal client would be
someone who visits often. We love repeat clients. The entire Bliss team
enjoys hearing their stories on how the floats have progressed and the
positive changes people are experiencing.
Are there any special promotions, annual sales, or special events that you'd like to mention?
We
have a couple of promotions going on now. I love Mother’s Day. I
personally found floating as a mom who needed a quiet space. Our current
special is a two-float package. After your float we will serve our
traditional prosecco and peaches (complimentary). This has become a moms
day favorite in The Woodlands. We are also offering 20-minute O2 bar
sessions after your float. The two-float package is shareable, so it
makes for a great mom date. We also have a single float offer if you
want to send mom in for some personal time for her to enjoy solo. We
will spoil her. Don’t you worry. Both packages include a beverage of
choice, O2 bar and the float.
Is there any other information you'd like your potential customers/clients to know about your business?

If
you want more information, we are open seven days a week. You can call
us (281-978-4037) or stop by for a tour (call before to check schedule)
or visit our
website.
Float
therapy is new to most, so we would love to be the ones to introduce
you to this relaxing and restoratative practice. Blissful Waters Float
Center is located on Timberloch Place on the East Shore side off
Grogan’s Mill. We also offer Contrast Therapy which is the utilization
of our Infrared Sauna and cold ice bath. You can use them separately or
combine the modalities to unlock the incredible health benefits that
they offer. We also have a "Brain Tap" room for guided meditations and
brain training. That, combined with a grounding vibrational chair, makes
for a wonderful and transformative experience.
How do you see your business growing and improving over the next couple of years?
We
have been busy adding modalities. I am ready now to share them with you
all and looking forward to connecting with our clients, changing lives,
and building memories.
